Recognizing the True King
Reading: Matthew 2:1-12
Devotional: The Magi walked into Herod's palace and asked, "Where is He who has been born King?" Not appointed or elected king - born king. What boldness to acknowledge Jesus as the true King while standing before an earthly ruler. Today, consider what "Herods" sit on thrones in your life. What receives your deepest loyalty and first attention? The thing you fear losing most reveals your real king. Jesus wasn't crowned by human hands; He was born worthy. Creation itself announced His kingship with a star. Before He preached, healed, or performed miracles, He was already King. This Christmas season, examine your heart. Are you giving Jesus the recognition He deserves, or are lesser kings receiving your worship? True devotion begins with honest acknowledgment: there is no king but Jesus.
