Clarifying Your Calling
Reading: Acts 6:1-4
Devotional: The apostles faced a legitimate crisis that demanded immediate attention, yet their first response wasn't to solve the problem—it was to clarify their calling. "It is not desirable for us to neglect the word of God," they declared. There's profound wisdom in knowing what God has called you to do and what He hasn't.
Not every good opportunity is a God opportunity. Before you add another commitment to your life, ask: Does this serve my primary calling? Capability doesn't equal calling. You may be able to do many things, but God has designed you for specific purposes. Devotion to prayer and God's Word must remain non-negotiable, regardless of how urgent other matters become.
