Purity Releases Power

Purity Releases Power

Reading: Acts 5:12-16; James 5:16

Devotional: Immediately after purity and reverence came supernatural power. The sequencing isn't accidental—it's essential. God's power flows most freely through surrendered vessels, but it's hindered by falsehood and pretense.

When believers gathered authentically in Solomon's Portico, Peter's shadow—that overshadowing glory of God's presence—brought healing. Notice two responses: some didn't dare associate with this raw, real faith, while broken people flocked to it from surrounding cities.

Casual churches attract crowds; authentic churches attract disciples. James reminds us that the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective, but righteousness here means authenticity, not perfection.

When we confess our sins to one another and live transparently, God's power is released. What would change in your life if you stopped performing and started surrendering completely?
